Gravity & Levitation
This spring summer collection focuses on simple silhouettes, layering and creative cutting in an attempt to emulate the concept of levitation and gravity. Sheer organdies and translucent silk organzas have been carefully selected in order to construct floating shoulders and weightless structured draping while contrasting rubber coated cottons and hardware convey the ‘pull’ of gravity. The finishings are also an important part of the processes as this is reflective of the key principles of minimalism and a clean aesthetic - clean seams, hand sewn blind rolled hems with invisible stitching. The designs incorporate subtle elements of gold hardware made from upcycled CPUs - an innovative and unique embellishment technique developed by Isabel Wong to introduce surface detailing and textures through a sustainable approach while retaining simplicity and elegance.
